Credit card bonus rewards for July 2021

Note: Discover IT and Chase Freedom requires you to enroll each quarter before you start earning a quarterly bonus in these categories. Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Flex: earn 5% cashback at Grocery stores (excludes grocery purchases made at Walmart and Target) and on select streaming services from July 1st, 2021 – September 30, 2021, on up to $1,500 in purchases. Must activate by September 14, 2021.

Additional bonus on Chase Freedom: Earn 5% cashback on Lyft rides with your Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom flex card through March 2022.

Maximizer Tips:

1. The restaurant category includes fast food/Quick Service restaurants.

3. It is not difficult to add one more payment option to streaming services. You can keep switching from one card to another whoever is offering the bonus. Card companies know that once we add one card to the streaming services, we tend to leave it there forever. This should be also a time to revisit whether you are watching that streaming service and should you cancel this one or that one.
4. Both Amazon Prime card and Chase Freedom will give you 5% cashback in points at Whole Foods. If you have both, then you have to decide whether you need to put your Amazon Prime card back in the drawer for this quarter while shopping at Whole Foods.

Watch Out!!

1. For Chase Freedom – Only subscriptions paid for or purchases made with the following select merchants will qualify for this 5% on streaming category: Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Netflix, Sling, Vudu, Fubo TV, Apple Music, SiriusXM, Pandora, Spotify, and YouTube TV.
2. For Discover: Payments made through the Xoom transfer service are not eligible for 5%. Any restaurant purchase made using PayPal will only be awarded a total of 5% Cashback Bonus. So you can’t double-dip:)
