Chase Freedom: earn 5% cash back at Gas Stations and Home Improvement stores from April 1st 2021 – June 30, 2021 on up to $1,500 in purchases.

Maximizer Tips:

1. You cannot use Discover cards in Costco warehouses but you can use them at Costco.com. So you can still earn 5% on Costco purchases at Costco.com. Beware, some of the items on Costco.com cost more than the same item in the warehouse.
2. Don’t forget standard “always-on” rewards for other purchases https://www.cardquarterly.com/always-on-rewards/
3. It is not difficult to add one more payment option to streaming services. You can keep switching from one card to another whoever is offering the bonus. Card companies know that once we add one card to the streaming services, we tend to leave it there forever. This should be also a time to revisit whether you are watching that streaming service and should you cancel this one or that one.

Watch Out!!

1. It is easy to reach $1,500 in spend at Costco. Keep an eye on it.
2. It is also easy to reach $1,500 at any home improvement store.
3. Usually, gas purchases at Costco, Sams, and BJs don’t earn 5% rewards from Discover and Chase Freedom. If you have Costco or Sam’s card, use that for filling the gas at their locations instead of these two cards.
